This book starts with historical background followed by
a description of the Ki-44 development. The largest part
of text covers the operational deployment, including
operations in Burma, Indonesia, the Philippines, CBI
theatre, Manchuria and Japan. There are also separate
chapters dedicated to the Ki-44 medaled pilots, post war
operators and fates of captured aircraft. A brief
overview of the existing Ki-44 kits is also provided.
The book contains over 70 b/w contemporary photos (some
of them published for the first time), more than 30
colour side profiles, 8 pages of drawings taken from the
original Ki-44-II manual, and last but not least, 32
pages of 1/48th and 1/72nd scale drawings.
