He Took His Brother’s Place – the story of
two brothers – Maxmilian and František Politzer.
Maxmilian was a pilot with No. 311 and No. 138
Squadron. He was killed in a crash after take-off on
the night of 9/10 March 1942. His brother František
took his place and became a navigator serving with
No. 311 Squadron. František Politzer did not return
from an anti-submarine patrol on October 29,1944.
